books on hydrating the body and mind

Being properly hydrated is one of the best ways to improve your health, especially if you are chronically ill. Here are a few excellent and informative reads to get you started.

To become better hydrated make sure you are drinking enough liquids, mineralize your body with crystal salts, and understand that hydration is not only a physical process but a mental one as well.

your body’s many cries for water

Dr. Fereydoon Batmanghelidj

When the Iranian Revolution broke out in 1979 Dr. Batmanghelidj was arrested and sent to prison as a political prisoner. One night he was asked to treat a fellow prisoner with crippling peptic ulcer pain. Not having any medicine at his disposal, all he could do was give the prisoner some water to drink. Within a few minutes the pain disappeared. The prisoner was instructed to drink two glasses of water every three hours and became absolutely pain free for his remaining time in prison.

"That woke me up, because in medical school I’d never heard that water could cure pain, that kind of pain, in fact.”

Dr. Batmanghelidj (affectionately known as Dr. Batman) went on to treat over 3,000 fellow prisoners suffering from severe pain. After his release from prison in 1982, he continued his research on the effects of chronic dehydration on the human body.

In this book he explains the physiology of dehydration and how this causes specific illnesses such as arthritis, headaches, back pain, weight gain, asthma, allergies, depression, and more.

water and salt

Barbara Hendal

For me the essential requirement of recommending a book is how it answers the question, "What's in it for me?" If the answer is that it's a fascinating read then there's no point in doing a review. To make the grade the book needs to contain something within its pages that has the power to make a difference in your health and your life. And this book certainly does that.

The central premise of Water and Salt is that a teaspoon of sole a day nourishes your body and soul. Solé (pronounced sol-lay) is simply a high quality salt dissolved in water. Now, I've known for decades that a teaspoon of solé a day has marvolous health benefits. And even though it's so easy to make I never ever tried it. Only after being inspired by this book did I start using it daily and reaping the health benefits.

It gives practical tips for increasing your well being, finding  physical and emotional balance, raising your consciousness, and getting more energy. It is filled with various recipes and ways you can use consume salt and water or use it on your body for better health.

Eating the salt you desire can improve everything, from your sleep, energy, and mental focus to your fitness, fertility, and sexual performance. It can even stave off common chronic illnesses. The Salt Fix shows the best ways to add salt back into your diet, offering his transformative five-step program for recalibrating your salt thermostat to achieve your unique, ideal salt intake.

souping is the new juicing

I used to do a lot of juicing and then my expensive juicer broke. The one thing about juicing that I didn't like was how much leftover pulp gets thrown out. This book reveals the advantages of eating soup for internal cleansing, weight loss, healing, and renewed energy. You will learn to make various types of soups, from warm, hearty soups to chilled, pureed soups, to simple broths. If you are like me and have have tried juicing but found it to be too inconvenient, too time-consuming, or too expensive then you will benefit from this well-crafted guide on all things soup.

the hidden messages in water

Place several crystal salt stones in a small glass jar with a lid, preferably glass but not metal. Plastic is ok. You can use a thoroughly cleaned jam or "ball" jar for example. Cover the salt crystals with pure, living spring water, like FIJI Water or your quartz crystal charged spring water. After about two hours, check to see if the crystals have dissolved. If they have completely dissolved, add another crystal salt stone. Keep doing this until the water can no longer dissolve any more salt, and the crystal salt stones remains at the bottom of the jar. The water has reached its 26% salt saturation level. You now have sole.

At this point, the salt crystals will no longer dissolve until you add more water. Once the solution arrives at 26% (26 parts of salt to 100 parts of water), it is saturated and becomes sole.

Therefore, you must look to see that there are always salt crystals remaining at the bottom of the jar, as an indicator that this solution is saturated!

You can always add water to the jar to replenish your supply of sole. Just remember, once the crystals have fully dissolved, you must add more crystals so that there are always undissolved salt crystals left in the sole. In this way you always know that the sole is fully saturated. This jar of sole doesn't need to be stored in any special manner, wherever it is convenient for you.

The sole is a sterile solution and naturally prevents all kinds of germs, viruses, bacteria or fungi from forming in the jar.

Sole is fundamental for many of the following applications.

rewilding
spend time in nature
sit spotting
mindful awareness
flower remedies
active imagination
